Chanel attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh where she studied fine arts education. After college, Chanel relocated to NYC and worked for Steve Madden within management, buying and merchandising at Madden’s home office. Currently, Chanel is furthering her education within education, gender, sex and intersectionality studies. Chanel currently serves as the Vice President of The Transgender Children Legal Defense Fund board.
Through her personal experiences as a trans woman of color, she finds the passion to support, advocate and create brave spaces for young queer, trans, nonbinary gender variant youth of color to allow their voice to be elevated. Chanel is active in her community supporting multiple grass root organizations that are on the grounds advocating for queer people of color who are experiencing housing insecurities, police brutality and the empowerment of queer black and brown folxs.
