This is an event to support Oakland area youth in building community and checking in with themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Out! Oakland: Nurturing our Roots for the Future

A youth-centered gathering for high school age Trans and Queer students in Oakland

Out! Oakland will provide Oakland area youth with the tools to support their personal well-being, while celebrating our Trans and Queer identities by coming together to build as one community on March 30th. There will be two training sessions: the first will focus on your personal growth and the second will focus on improving our communities. We will also have a closing art session + music from local Trans and Queer artists.

The sessions will help you check in with yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually to protect yourself from the haters. The Personal session includes: Body Positive Self Defense and Queer Consent Sex Ed. The Community session that follows will give you a chance to gain tools to analyze the world around you. These sessions will be led by a local organization, to give you a chance to tap in to the community-level fight for liberation.

This gathering is for any high school-aged youth who lives in Oakland and wants to become a leader - anyone who wants to have fun, learn from each other, and build a solid Trans and Queer youth community!
