The Long Beach Youth Leadership Summit is a FREE brave space to unite all middle and high school students for a day of sharing leadership tools, training and movement building power! Come ready to receive some serious wisdom, interactive workshops, resources, and have a fabulous time connecting with trans, queer and ally youth to reduce bullying in schools, build stronger GSA clubs, school environments, and healthier communities! Service learning hours, lunch and snacks will be provided.

Summit Will Feature:

• Art Station (Patches, Shrink Film, Charms, Zines)
• Inspirational speeches from trans, queer and gender non-conforming community leaders
• Team builders
• Workshop sessions on race, gender, and sexuality, trans and queer student rights, building coalitions, and having our GSAs taking action against homophobia, transphobia, advocacy, activism, artivism and campaigns
• Performances
• Spoken word
• Open mic

Become a fierce activist for safer schools and healthier communities with a new brave generation of trans, queer and ally youth. Leave with lifelong bonds and a connection to our movement. Join us!

This summit was planned by middle and high school students who are members and leaders of Genders & Sexualities Alliance or Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Clubs. They represent schools in Long Beach such as Lakewood, Millikan, Wilson, Poly, Poly PAAL, Cabrillo, Jordan, among others. This summit is co-presented by GSA Network and The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach with funding support from The California Endowment's Building Healthy Communities initiative in Long Beach.
