Days of Action
Take Action
Trans and queer youth of color use their collective voice and power to change the narrative about their lives and experiences, create visibility on campus and local communities, protect established student rights, and shift school discipline policies that push youth out of school and into the criminal justice system. We support LGBTQ+ youth organizers across the country to take action and create change at all levels, from school-based campaigns that impact individual school districts to national days of action that unite GSAs for racial and gender justice.
There are many ways to take action and create change in your school, community, or even your state.
GSA Days of Actions
GSA Day for Racial Justice (February) and GSA Day for Gender Justice (November), two national days of action for trans and queer youth of color or individual GSA clubs.
Across the country, GSAs and TQ2S+ youth gather on the same day to take action, study together, and practice organizing in real time. These days connect isolated youth to a national movement and show the power we have when we act together.
Youth and adult allies learn direct action skills, build confidence in their organizing abilities, and see that they’re part of something bigger than their individual schools or communities. When hundreds of GSAs participate simultaneously, it amplifies every local action and creates the kind of visibility that shifts public conversation.
Participating is essential because it transforms individual GSAs into a collective force. These coordinated moments build movement culture, create shared experiences across regions, and demonstrate that TQ2S+ youth are organized, strategic, and powerful. Every GSA that joins strengthens the whole network and shows other young people that resistance is possible, even in the most hostile environments.
