Southeast Fellow

Residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Sydney began her journey in activism and organizing as a youth leader in the SCCPI Institute at Project South. Here, they began organizing and campaigning for the National Student Bill of Rights, a way of working to ensure youths access to safe and secure public education. This soon started to tackle other problems, such as a need for police free schooling. Sydney spoke on these issues and many more on WRFG Youth Speaks Truth radio station. Sydney joined the National Youth Council, where she was able to continue her growth in youth movement work. Sydney works with many youth in her surrounding community. They are currently working to create a secure Southeastern space for queer youth of color to develop leadership and support.
