Ronnie is a first generation Chinese American queer kid born and raised in Northern California. They began their queer journey and involvement in GSAN in high school as a participant in some of the youth programs, where they discovered space to explore their queer identity and voice. This continued at the University of Southern California, where they got a Bachelor’s in Communications and Non-Profit Sociology in 2018. There, they were able to blossom into their queer nonbinary identity and develop skills in social media management, community organizing, and uplifting other queer experiences and voices.
Ronnie joined GSAN as the Digital Coordinator in October 2020. They are deeply invested in raising mental health awareness and support for their communities and constantly questioning the status quo of binary identities. They draw heavily from their experiences in the intersections of mental health, the Chinese community and the queer trans community.
In their spare time, they like to binge watch crime shows, bike, drink a lot of boba, and fill their camera roll with pictures of their cat- Tapioca.
