Josh Hutcherson & Avan Jogia Meet GSA Leaders
Feb. 27, 2012

UPDATE: Josh Hutcherson, for his work with Gay-Straight Alliance youth and Straight But Not Narrow, is now the youngest person to receive GLAAD's Vanguard Award!

Having trouble explaining to your school why straight allies are so important? Let Josh Hutcherson, Avan Jogia, and our SoCal youth leaders help!

Gay-Straight Alliance Network teamed up with Straight But Not Narrow (SBNN) to create this "PSA for GSAs," emphasizing the important role straight allies can play in creating safe schools for all.

"I think the most important thing about having straight allies is just the knowledge that there are people who are there for you. Straight allies are people who accept you for who you are, and who are on your side and will defend you,” said Avan Jogia, Straight But Not Narrow founder, when the video was released.

In the PSA, Avan and SBNN supporter Josh Hutcherson, star of the upcoming film Hunger Games, chat with Gay-Straight Alliance Network youth leaders about their activism.

The Hunger Games comes out in March -- organize a GSA event to screen the PSA at your school!
