Today is GLSEN's 18th annual Day of Silence -- and we want to hear (non-verbally) how it goes!
The Day of Silence is a day in which people of all sexual orientations and gender identities who support lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights take a vow of silence to recognize and protest the silence that LGBT people face each day.
If at any point you experience opposition to your participation in GLSEN’s Day of Silence, you have rights! Read Lambda Legal’s Legal FAQ on the Day of Silence to learn more and contact GSA Network if the opposition continues. And don't forget to hold a "Speak Out" or "Break the Silence" event at the end of the day, to educate your school!
Let us know in the comments if your GSA is participating, and how students and your school respond!
