It is crucial that LGBTQ+ youth leaders make their voices heard in Sacramento so that our state can continue to lead the way on LGBTQ+ civil rights and social justice. Join us in raising awareness about critical priorities for the LGBTQ+ community and all communities impacted by new challenges at the federal level.

LGBT Advocacy Day 2017 will be hosted in partnership with Equality California, ACLU, APLA Health, LA LGBT Center, Lambda Legal, Project Inform, NCLR, SF AIDS Foundation, and the Transgender Law Center to bring together a broad coalition of LGBTQ+ leaders, community members, and activists.

LGBT Advocacy Day 2017 participants will receive training on legislative priorities and how to advocate for these priorities. Every participant will then engage in face-to-face meetings with California legislators and their staff, urging them to pass critical legislation that will protect and expand the civil liberties of all Californians.

We will be lobbying on a variety of issues important to the LGBTQ+ community including:

  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Transgender rights
  • Criminal justice and immigration reform

Applications will be accepted until April 28, 2017. Registration for high school and university students is FREE.
