GSA Network Stands With Baltimore, #BlackSpring

The National Youth Council of GSA Networks again calls for unity and action in the face of police brutality.

This week our nation watched as the people of Baltimore, many of them young people, protested another senseless death of an unarmed black person, Freddie Gray.

For the last two years, LGBTQ people of color have been at the forefront of the struggle for #BlackLivesMatter and at the forefront of many of the uprisings around the country. The issues of criminalization and over policing of youth should unite all young people.

Like the youth of Baltimore we, as LGBTQ youth, know what it is like to face a prospectless future where institutional discrimination limits your personal potential and where systemic oppression tears apart your hopes and dreams.

As the council representing the national GSA Movement, we call on all GSAs to stand in solidarity with #BMoreUnited and #BlackSpring protests across this country.  We call on LGBTQ youth across the nation to continue to join the growing movements for racial and economic justice that seeks to change the conditions so many of us face.

4 Justice & Solidarity,
